Hi, my name is Helen and I have been a successful educator for over 30 years working in a range of schools. I always build positive relationships with my students and treat each person as an individual. Having been a class teacher, subject leader of numerous subjects, including maths, Year group leader, Deputy Head and Head teacher, I am passionate about people developing growth mindsets and becoming active learners. My friendly, supportive approach to teaching enables students to feel comfortable and in a good place to learn. However, I also believe in stretching my students because we are all capable of so much more.

My Philosophy

Everybody has the capacity to learn, it is thought that inhibits learning or unlocks amazing opportunities.  ‘Whether you think you can or think you can’t you are right.’ Henry Ford.  I love the power of ‘YET’. ‘I cannot do this YET’. ‘I do not know that YET’.  ‘YET’ turns to’ I can’ with persistence and a good attitude and belief in oneself as a learner.

My main role as an educator is to facilitate learning. To help people unlock their potential by developing the learning habits of being: resilient, resourceful, reflective and responsive. Having a growth mindset, rather than a fixed mindset enables anybody to learn anything and unlocks the potential within.

Our services do not simply teach students to enable them to pass an exam. We enable children and adults to learn for life, to not only gain knowledge but to gain skills and attitudes to learning to allow them to unlock more of their potential.
